Daily Report

September 05 2025

Over the last couple of days some of the anglers we had staying in the motel and stopping by the shop reported having some success in the lower end of the river and mostly at the DSR. Most of the reports were getting from anglers are in the lower end of the river such as Ballpark, Staircase, Black Hole and DSR, which is normal for this time of year and early in the season. During the week depending on the day anglers reported getting into mostly kings along with some cohos in the mix. Not everyone, but overall most anglers said they were pleasantly surprised with the number of fish they either got into or what they saw on the move or holding in pools. The nice thing was that not many anglers were around this week but that will change as we head through the month. On Thursday we did have some scattered rain showers move through the area but not enough to impact the water level.

Brookfield, in consultation with the New York State DEC, have decided to continue with the current 185 cfs base flow out of Lighthouse Hill for the beginning of September due to ongoing drought conditions coupled with low reservoir levels. This lowered base flow will remain reduced until the reservoir recovers to normal historic elevations for this time of year.
