Daily Report

November 07 2025

On Thursday it was cold and windy with dry conditions. The majority of anglers we spoke with who fished the lower end of the river reported having a good day. We finally got enough rain recently that the increased flow has continued to bring fresh fish into the river and help spread them out from top to bottom. Yesterday other anglers staying in the motel or stopping into the shop reported getting into steelhead in the mid section and upper section of river as well.  For those anglers who are fly fishing, this time of year a variety of techniques can be effective, whether you like to swing streamers with sinking leaders, fish egg patterns under a strike indicator or dead drift them, they all can proudce results depending on the day.  For those anglers who are float fishing or bottom bouncing, egg sacs or beads have produced the best results. On the real windy days, when leaves are a factor, non leaf colors such as blue, pink and purple have been most productive.

Suggested patterns:

Egg patterns: Glo-bugs, estaz eggs, sucker spawn, steelie omelet in size 6-10.

Streamers: Krystal buggers, egg sucking leeches, woolly buggers in size 4-8.

Nymphs: Rubber legged stones, estaz stones, steelhead hammer, steak-n-eggs in size 6-10.
