Daily Report

November 13 2025

Wednesday was another day of wintry mixed precipitation, we had lake effect snow showers in the morning with lake effect rain in the afternoon, but we did get catch a break with the wind.  We still have plenty of steelhead in the river, but combined with the recent higher flows and our first winter weather of the season, it's been harder for anglers finding and landing fish.  For those anglers who are fly fishing, this time of year a variety of techniques can be effective, whether you like to swing streamers with sinking leaders, fish egg patterns under a strike indicator or dead drift them, they all can proudce results depending on the day.  For those anglers who are float fishing or bottom bouncing, egg sacs or beads have produced the best results. On the real windy days, when leaves are a factor, non leaf colors such as blue, pink and purple have been most productive.

Suggested patterns:

Egg patterns: Glo-bugs, estaz eggs, sucker spawn, steelie omelet in size 6-10.

Streamers: Krystal buggers, egg sucking leeches, woolly buggers in size 4-8.

Nymphs: Rubber legged stones, estaz stones, steelhead hammer, steak-n-eggs in size 6-10.
