Daily Report

December 28 2018

On Friday we had scattered rain showers throughout the day and the temperature reached into the mid 40's. With the combination of melting snow and rain were getting plenty of runoff. The best water clarity and least amount of runoff was in the upper end of the river in Altmar. The visibility in the lower end of the river was off color from the recent rain and runoff. Despite the high water anglers who were here made the most of tough conditions. The best reports we had came from anglers who fished the upper of the river between Altmar and Pineville. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with nymphs. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with pink and blue egg sacs. For water level information check www.safewaters.com and enter Altmar.
