water-temp Water Temp 45F

Daily Report

January 14 2019

Sunday was another cold day with a morning temperature of zero degrees, but in the afternoon with sunny conditions the temperature reached into the teens. With the cold temp's slush ice was once again a factor in the lower end of the river and did not clear. Slush ice was not a factor in the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville and the anglers we spoke with who fished Altmar reported having a good day. Over the weekend anglers reported getting into fish in the Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Bovines, Trestle Pool and Pineville. Anglers who were float fishing or bottom bouncing had the most success with blue egg sacs. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with rusher nymphs, wiggle stones, beadhead stones, steelhead hammer, steak-n-eggs, steelhead buggers and estaz eggs.
