Monday was another mild day with scattered rain showers in the morning and sunshine later in the afternoon. With the mild temperatures and recent rain it's no surprise we have high water levels. Were still dealing with melting snow coming off the Tug Hill and combined with the recent rain, spring runoff is normal for this time of year. The lower end of the river is getting plenty of runoff and is running off color. The majority of bank anglers are fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville where you have the best visibility and least amount of runoff. The diversions and side channels off the main river also provides another option for bank anglers. Some of the smaller local tributaries may also provide another option for bank anglers once they come back down from the recent rain and snow melt.
