Please check the waterline for the latest update. The water level is still high but has come down considerably from where it was. Some colder weather is in the forecast as we go through the remainder of the week but some dry conditions are expected. With the recent stretch of high water anglers who still made the trip have been making the most of tough conditions. Over the last couple of days the majority of bank anglers have been fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville or some of the smaller local tributaries. Now that the water level has come down and the runoff has slowed up the mid to lower end of the river is another option for anglers. For those anglers who are fly fishing, egg patterns, egg sucking leeches and flesh flies would be a good choice. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs or beads have been most productive.
