water-temp Water Temp 54F

Daily Report

November 26 2017

Saturday was another mild day with the temperature reaching into the mid 40's along with a few scattered showers in the afternoon.  The majority of anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish throughout the river. The upper section of the river between Altmar and Pineville continues to get the most fishing pressure on a daily basis which is normal for this time of year. The high water we had earlier in the month brought good numbers of fish into the river and it's no surprise the upper section of river is holding good numbers of steelhead. With the current low water conditions, nice weather and fish in the river, the number of anglers we have on the water is normal for this time of year. Anglers who are willing to walk and looking for some solitude have been fishing the mid section of river and getting into fish. Anglers who are fishing the lower section of the river have also been doing well and getting into fresh fish on a daily basis. Anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing have had steady results with pink or blue egg sacs and beads. Anglers who are fly fishing in the lower end of the river have done well with pink, chart or blue egg patterns under a strike indicator. In the mid to upper end of the river anglers who are fly fishing have had success with pale colored single egg patterns or nymphs. Some fly fishing anglers are also having success with small woolly buggers, flesh flies and bunny leeches.
