November 04 2021
On Wednesday in the morning we had our first burst of winter with some heavy wet lake effect snow showers. In the afternoon it cleared up with some sunshine and the few inches of snow we picked up in the morning melted. We got mixed reports from anglers depending on where they fished, some anglers got into fish, while others did not. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported having a tough day, but a few anglers did mange to get into some fresh chrome. Anglers staying in the motel and stopping into the shop reported having some action in the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville as well as the Upper Fly Fishing Area. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success indicator fishing with egg patterns or dead drifting with streamers. Covering lots of water has also been the key to success.
