Over the weekend we had some colder temperatures along with very windy conditions, with what snow we got the previous day and what fell this morning we picked around 6 inches of new lake effect snow. We do have some warmer weather conditions expected for the upcoming week. The water level has been high, but it is fishable and anglers are fishing both from the bank as well as drift boats. A few bank anglers have been fishing the mid to lower end of the river, but the majority of bank anglers are fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. The fish have been holding in the normal winter holding areas such as Lower Fly Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Trestle Pool, Pineville, Sportsman Pool, Town Pool, Black Hole and DSR. Anglers who are fly fishing have been having the most success dead drifting with nymphs or egg patterns. The anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing have had the most success with pink and blue egg sacs, beads, pink worms and marabou jigs.
