Daily Report
December 28 2022
On Tuesday we had mostly cloudy conditions with the temperature reaching into the mid 20's. Over the next couple of days the weather is expected to improve with above average temperatures in the forecast. Yesterday the few anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish both in the upper and lower end of the river. We currently have fish spread out in the river from top to bottom and the fish have been in and around the normal winter holding areas. Anglers who were fly fishing had success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, beads or marabou jigs have all produced results.
Suggested patterns:
Nymphs; Steelhead Hammer, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails.
Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.
Streamers; Woolly buggers, Rusher nymphs, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
