Daily Report

January 19 2023

On Wednesday we had steady rain for most of the day with the temperature reaching into the upper 30's. The few anglers we spoke with reported getting into some fish in the mid to upper end of the river.  We currently have fish spread out in the river from top to bottom with a mix of fresh fish entering the river and fish holding in the normal winter areas. The upper and lower end of the river has been getting the most fishing pressure on a daily basis, if your willing to walk and looking for some solitude the mid section of river would be a good choice. Anglers who are fly fishing have been having the most success dead drifting with nymphs and small streamers or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, beads, marabou jigs and pink worms have all produced results.

Suggested patterns:

Nymphs;  Steelhead Hammer, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails.

Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Steelie Omelette, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.

Streamers; Woolly buggers, Rusher nymphs, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
