Daily Report
April 22 2023
On Friday we had calm and mostly sunny conditions with the temperature reaching into the 80's. The mild conditions are expected to continue again on Saturday. We currently have drop backs scattered throughout the river from top to bottom. As the water temperature continues to rise, the drop backs generally hold in the faster water and are typically suspended in the water column. With the recent drop in water level the best action has been in the deeper holes and larger runs. Anglers who fished the DSR have been getting into a mix of dropbacks and smallmouth bass. Other areas of the river where anglers had success over the last couple of days was the Upper & Lower Fly Fishing areas, Schoolhouse, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville, Sportsman, Papermill, Town Pool, Longbridge and Black Hole.
