Saturday was another hot and sunny day with the temperature reaching 80 degrees. The extended forecast shows warm and humid conditions from today right through the upcoming week. The fishing pressure did increase for the weekend which is normal for this time of year. Yesterday the anglers we spoke with reported that the best action was first thing in the morning and late in the day. Anglers reported getting into mostly kings along with a few cohos. Overall it's still early in the season but so far were off to a good start with fish scattered in the river from top to bottom. In the upper end of the river anglers have reported kings holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs, such as Upper Fly Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Trestle Pool and Sportsman Pool. In the mid to lower end of the river depending on the day, anglers have reported fresh kings on the move in areas such as the Ballpark, Town Pool, Longbridge/Staircase, Black Hole and the DSR.
Due to the new license paper changes we will no longer be selling licenses in the shop. The paper used for sporting licenses and carcass tags has changed from special stock (Valeron) to plain paper. This change modernizes the license purchasing process by allowing easier, quicker access to licenses and tags offering at-home license and tag printing options for the increasing number of hunters and anglers who purchase their licenses online.
Current Shop hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00AM - 7:00PM. Friday & Saturday 7:00AM - 8:00PM. Sunday 7:00AM - 7:00PM.
