Tuesday was another cold and windy day with the temperature in the teens along with lake effect snow. With the cold temp's slush ice was a factor in the lower end of the river and did not clear. The release from the dam is now 700cfs and Pineville gauge is reading around 868cfs. Yesterday we had no reports from anglers, if you plan on fishing, the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville would be your best choice. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifitng with nymphs, indicator fishing with egg patterns or swinging small streamers with sink tips have all produced results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs, beads, pink worms and marabou jigs have all produced results.
