Daily Report

Over the last couple of days the weather has been up and down and overall not that many anglers have been fishing. We currently have good numbers of steelhead spread out in the river from top to bottom, but trying to time the right window with the weather has been challenging to say the least. On the days that slush ice is not a factor anglers are able to fish the mid to lower section of river, other wise most days anglers are fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. For the latest update on the water flow you can always check safewaters and the Pineville gauge. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifitng with nymphs, indicator fishing with egg patterns or swinging small streamers with sink tips have all produced results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs, beads, pink worms and marabou jigs have all produced results.

Eggs: Estaz eggs, steelie omelet, glo-bugs, sucker spawn.

Streamers: Crystal buggers, woolly buggers, zonkers, bunny leeches, egg sucking leeches.

Nymphs: Prince nymphs, copper john's, pheasant tails, wiggle stones, steelhead hammer, beadhead stones, rubber legged stones.
