February 27 2025
On Wednesday we had a mix of sun and clouds with the temperature reaching into the mid 30's. Over the last couple of days the number of anglers has increased while getting out to take advantage of the break in the weather. In the upper end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the normal winter holding areas, such as Lower Flyfishing Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville and Sportsman Pool. In the lower end of the river anglers have been getting into steelhead in the Town pool, Longbridge, Black Hole and the DSR. Anglers who are fly fishing have had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, beads, egg sacs or pink worms have all produced results.
