On Wednesday we started out the morning with the temperature in the teens, but with blue skies and plenty of sunshine the temperature reached near 50 degrees in the afternoon. On Tuesday we had cold and windy conditions along with lake effect snow showers and the temperature struggled to reach into the 30's. At 9:00AM the release from the dam was lowered to 2000cfs and as of this morning Pineville gauge was reading around 2840cfs. During the night on Monday we picked up an inch of snow here at the shop with reports of higher amounts up on the Tug Hill. Due to the recent rain and melting snow coming off the Tug Hill were still dealing with significant runoff. Due to the recent heavy rain and melting snow coming off the Tug Hill the Salmon River has significant runoff and is currently running at flood stage. As of this morning the dam release was 5500cfs and Pineville gauge was around 6050cfs. At this point it's best to wait until the river returns to a safe and fishable level. read more.
