Over the last couple of days we've had some cooler weather conditions. The temperature at night has been in the upper 40's or low 50's and the temperature during the day has been in the upper 60's and low 70's. A few salmon have been entering the lower end of the river on a daily basis. It's been mostly kings but a few cohos have been caught and sighted as well. Depending on the day the numbers have varied, but mostly it's been singles and doubles or small groups of 3-5 fish being seen on the move. The best movement has been first thing in the morning and once the bright sun comes out the fish have been holding up in the deeper holes until later in the day. The majority of action has been in the lower end of the river. The anglers we spoke with who had the most success have been fishing the DSR, Staircase and Ballpark. Just a reminder that a water release(750cfs) is scheduled for the upcoming holiday weekend. Store hours will be extended for Labor Day Weekend.
