Daily Report

September 08 2025

Over the weekend we had some cooler weather conditions along with a little bit of rain but not really enough to impact the water levels. The number of anglers did increase from what we were seeing during the week which was expected and is normal for this time of year. As always, depending on who you spoke with, where they fished and expectation levels, we got mixed reports from anglers, some groups got into a few fish, while others did not. Overall the majority of anglers are focussing on the lower end of the river around the Ballpark, Town Pool area, Longbridge/Staircase,  Black Hole and the DSR. We didn't get many reports from the mid to upper end of the river, but with the low water conditions anglers are focussing in and around the deeper holes and larger runs.

Brookfield, in consultation with the New York State DEC, have decided to continue with the current 185 cfs base flow out of Lighthouse Hill for the beginning of September due to ongoing drought conditions coupled with low reservoir levels. This lowered base flow will remain reduced until the reservoir recovers to normal historic elevations for this time of year.
