The recent stretch of mild weather conditions was really nice while it lasted, but cooler conditions are expected for another day, then we gradually warm up as we head through the rest of the week. On Sunday we had scattered wet snow showers in the morning with the temperature only reaching into the upper 30's. The release from the dam was 1000cfs and Pineville gauge is reading around 1540cfs as of this morning. Yesterday the majority of bank anglers we spoke with reported having a good day on the main river as well as some of the smaller local tributaries. The drift boat anglers are taking advantage of the higher water conditions while covering lots of water and also having plenty of drop back action as well. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifting with streamers or egg patterns under a strike indicator has produced steady results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs, beads and pink worms have all produced steady results.
