Daily Report

April 19 2026

Saturday was another really mild day with the temperature reaching into the upper 70's. We had a mix of sun and clouds with the rain holding off until early evening. It rained throughout the night and as the cold front arrived the temperature dropped and much cooler conditions are expected for Sunday. On Saturday morning at 8:00AM the dam release was lowered to 1000cfs and Pineville gauge is reading around 1610cfs as of this morning. Yesterday the majority of bank anglers we spoke with reported having another very good day on the main river as well as some of the smaller local tributaries. The drift boat anglers are taking advantage of the higher water conditions while covering lots of water and also having plenty of drop back action as well.  For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifting with streamers or egg patterns under a strike indicator has produced steady results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs, beads and pink worms have all produced steady results.
