Daily Report

Wednesday was another day of fall like conditions with the early morning temperature in the 40's and with blue skies and plenty of sunshine the temperature reached near 70 degrees in the afternoon. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported getting into a mix of kings and cohos with fish both on the move and holding in the deeper holes. In the mid to upper to upper end of the river kings are holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs.  As far as the lake fishing goes, on the days the boats can get out, the fishing has been very good. The open motel dates have been posted on the motel page of the website. If you don't see the dates your looking for, it's always best to call and check to see if something just recently became available.

Closed By Emergency Order: The Lower Fly Fishing Catch & Release Area. From September 15 through October 31, 2026. Drought conditions have produced low and warm water conditions, therefore the Lower Fly Fishing Area will remain closed in order to help ensure an adequate Pacific salmon egg take at the Salmon River Hatchery during the fall 2026 spawning season.  Any questions or concerns contact the Region 7 Fisheries office at 607-218-3767.
