Daily Report

Thursday was another really nice fall day with morning temp's in the 40's and the afternoon temperature reaching into the upper 60's along with plenty of sunshine. More of the same conditions are expected as we head into the weekend. Yesterday we got mixed reports from anglers depending on where they fished, some anglers had a good day, while others said it was slow for them. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported the majority of action being mostly kings along with a few cohos mixed in. In the mid to upper to upper end of the river kings are holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs.  As far as the lake fishing goes, on the days the boats can get out, the fishing has been very good. The open motel dates have been posted on the motel page of the website. If you don't see the dates your looking for, it's always best to call and check to see if something just recently became available.

Closed By Emergency Order: The Lower Fly Fishing Catch & Release Area. From September 15 through October 31, 2026. Drought conditions have produced low and warm water conditions, therefore the Lower Fly Fishing Area will remain closed in order to help ensure an adequate Pacific salmon egg take at the Salmon River Hatchery during the fall 2026 spawning season.  Any questions or concerns contact the Region 7 Fisheries office at 607-218-3767.
