On Sunday we had plenty of sunshine but it was cold and windy with the temperature reaching into the 30's. Over the weekend the water level came down to 1600cfs and it was good to see anglers getting out on the water. The drift boats continue to take advantage of the high water and float the river on a daily basis. The majority of bank anglers have been fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville, but a few anglers are fishing the lower end of the river as well. Some of the smaller local tributaries is also another option for anglers. Dead drifting with nymphs has produced the best results for those anglers that are fly fishing. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs and pink worms has produced the best results.
