Please check the waterline for the latest update. On Thursday we had cloudy conditions with the temperature reaching into the upper 40's. The rain held off until later in the day and really wasn't that bad. Over the last couple of days were still just seeing a few anglers on the water, it seems most anglers are waiting for the water to come down or weather conditions to warm up. Eventually that will happen, but at this point the river is still fishable, we have fish and anglers are fishing. The drift boats guides continue to take advantage of the higher water and are floating most of the river on a daily basis. Most of the bank anglers have been fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville as well as the diversions and side channels off the main river. Most of the fly fishing anglers have been fishing the Upper Fly Zone or the diversions and side channels in the mid to upper section of river. Dead drifting with stoneflies, woolly buggers or san juan worms has produced steady results. Indicator fishing with egg patterns such as glo-bugs or sucker spawn has also been productive. For those anglers who are float fishing or bottom bouncing, blue and pink egg sacs, beads and pink worms have all produced results.
