If your looking for the Salmon River water conditions, you now need to check www.safewaters.com and enter Altmar to get the current conditions. On Saturday we had much colder weather then the previous day with the temperature in the 30's along with windy conditions. The few anglers we spoke with reported getting into some steelhead in the afternoon both in the upper and lower end of the river. In the lower end of the river anglers reported that the water clarity was off color from runoff but improved later in the day. Anglers who were float fishing had the most success with pink egg sacs. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success in the upper end of the river dead drifting with nymphs or egg patterns. 

The shop and motel will be closed on December 24th & 25th.
