Daily Report

January 05 2019

On Saturday the spring like weather conditions continued with plenty of sunshine and the temperature reached into the mid 40's again. With the recent drop in water level, mild weather and no wind, we saw an increase in the number of anglers getting out to enjoy the conditions. We got mixed reports from anglers, some groups did well, while others had a slow day. Overall the best reports we had came from the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. The fish were holding along the softer water and inside seams of the deeper holes and larger runs. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success with wiggle stones, rusher nymphs, steelhead hammer, infected pheasant tails and estaz eggs. Anglers who were float fishing or bottom bouncing had the most success with blue egg sacs, beads and pink worms.
