Daily Report

February 04 2019

On Monday we had spring like conditions with very little wind, mostly sunny skies and the temperature reached 60 degrees. It was a great day for anglers to take advantage of the weather and get out on the water. The best reports we had came from anglers who fished the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. Anglers reported getting into fish in the Lower Fly Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole and Trestle Pool. The few anglers we spoke with who fished the lower end of the river reported having a slow day. Anglers who fly fished the upper end of the river had the most success dead drifting with black stoneflies. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with blue egg sacs.    With decent weather in the forecast for the remainder of the week and the drop in water level anglers should take advantage of the opportunity while it lasts.
