Daily Report
February 09 2019
On Friday the warmest part of the day was in the morning with the temperature in the 40's. Throughout the day the temperature continued to drop and by the afternoon it was in the 20's along with 20-30mph winds and gusts over 40. The few anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish in the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville. Dead drifting with nymphs has produced the best action for those anglers who are fly fishing. The most productive patterns have been wiggle stones, steelhead hammer, steak-n-eggs, rusher nymphs and black stoneflies. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, blue and pink egg sacs, beads or pink worms have produced steady results. The most productive areas have been the Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Upper & Lower Trestle Pool, Refrigerator Hole, Pineville, Sportsman Pool, Black Hole and DSR.
