water-temp Water Temp 48F

Daily Report

April 12 2019

On Friday we had very mild conditions with the temperature reaching into the mid 60's in the afternoon. Most of the groups we spoke with were not thrilled with the increase in water level, but they were already here and committed so they made the best of tough conditions.  With the Salmon River running at 3000cfs plus runoff the majority of anglers we spoke with decided to fish some of the smaller local tributaries. Some of the groups we spoke with reported it was there first time fishing the creeks and had no success, while others who had experience fishing the creeks reported having a very good day. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with woolly buggers or indicator fishing with egg patterns. Anglers who were float fishing had the most success with pink and chartreuse egg sacs, beads or pink worms.
