Daily Report

October 01 2019

Warm and humid conditions are expected for today along with scattered rain showers. As of early this morning the temperature was already in the 60's. After today the extended forecast calls for a cold front coming through with much cooler conditions for later in the week along with possible rain. On Monday the anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported having a good day  with a steady movement of kings. We currently have fish spread out in the river from top to bottom. In the lower end of the river kings have been moving through the DSR, Black Hole, Staircase/Longbridge, Town Pool, Ballpark, Papermill and RT2A. In the mid to upper end of the river anglers have reported fish holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs such as Sportsman Pool, Ace in the Hole, Pineville, Trestle Pool, Ellis Cove and Schoolhouse Pool. The lower end of the river has been getting the most fishing pressure on a daily basis, but if your trying to avoid some of the crowds and willing to walk, the mid section of river is generally a good choice. Anglers have also reported fish holding in both the Upper & Lower Fly Fishing Zone. Over the last couple of days the most productive patterns have estaz eggs, glo-bugs, sucker spawn, comets, egg sucking leeches, fish skull zonkers, conehead muddlers, woolly buggers, hot stones and steelhead hammer.
