On Thursday we had scattered rain showers in the morning and once the temperature dropped it turned into wet snow showers in the afternoon. No major accumulation but just enough to coat the ground white. Over the last couple of days the water level has been coming down and generally the fish need time to acclimate to the new flow. The best action seems to be coming from the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville but is also getting the most fishing pressure on a daily basis. Anglers have reported getting into fresh chrome in the upper end of the river that came in with the higher water conditions. In the lower end of the river your dealing with more runoff and not as many anglers but fresh chrome has been reported in this section as well. Anglers who are fly fishing have had the most success dead drifting with sucker spawn, glo-bugs and estaz eggs. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing with spinning gear or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, trout beads and pink worms have produced the best results.
