Daily Report
November 18 2019
On Monday we had a mix of sun and clouds with the temperature reaching into the 40's in the afternoon. Weather wise it was a great day to be on the water and the mild conditions were very much appreciated. It was no surprise that with the low water and warmer weather the number of anglers on the water increased. Overall we got mixed reports from anglers depending on where they fished and experience level. In the upper end of the river anglers reported having some action in the Upper & Lower Fly Zone with single egg patterns and nymphs producing the best results. Other areas in the upper end of the river that have been producing action on a daily basis are below the Altmar bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Bovines and Trestle Pool. Keep in mind that the upper section of river between Altmar and Pineville is also getting the most pressure on a daily basis. If your trying to avoid the crowd and willing to walk the mid section of river is a good choice. In the lower end of the river anglers have been getting into fish in the Town Pool, Longbridge/Staircase, Blackhole and the DSR. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with blue, pink and chart egg sacs, trout beads or pink worms.
