Daily Report

December 14 2019

On Saturday we had mild and calm conditions with the temperature in the mid 40's. In the morning we had a misty drizzle that turned into a steady rain in the afternoon, which then turned into wet snow showers in the evening. The number of anglers increased from what we saw during the week which was not s surprise, especially on a Saturday with mild weather conditions. Anglers reported getting into some fish both in the upper and lower end of the river. In the upper end of the river anglers have had some action between Altmar and Pineville. The Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Trestle Pool and Pineville have been productive. In the mid to lower end of the river anglers have had success in the Sportsman Pool, RT2A, Town Pool, Staircase, Black Hole and the DSR. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. Anglers who were bottom bouncing with spinning gear or float fishing had the most success with pink and blue egg sacs or trout beads.
