Daily Report

December 26 2019

Thursday was another mild day with cloudy conditions and the temperature reached into the 40's. With the mild weather it was nice to see anglers getting out on the water and taking advantage of the conditions. The majority of anglers we spoke with fished either the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville or the lower end of the river. The action in the upper end of the river seemed a little more steady and in the lower end of the river anglers reported that the action was better in the morning then the afternoon. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with pheasant tails, stoneflies, hare's ear and soft hackles or indicator fishing with single egg patterns. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with pink and blue egg sacs or trout beads.
