Daily Report
December 30 2019
Over the weekend we had good weather conditions with above average temperatures for this time of year. The number of anglers increased over the last couple of days and it was good to see anglers getting out and taking advantage of conditions. On Sunday the temperature reached into the 40's and the rain held off until later in the afternoon. It rained throughout the night with with wind nd rain in the forecast for today. The upper and lower end of the river has been getting the most fishing pressure on a daily basis. In the upper end of the river anglers have had action in the Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar bridge, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole and Trestle Pool. In the lower end of the river anglers have had success in the Papermill, Town Pool, Longbirdge/Staircase, Blackhole and DSR. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. The most productive patterns have been pheasant tails, hare's ear, prince nymphs, stoneflies, estaz eggs and sucker spawn. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, pink worms, trout beads and marabou jigs have all produced results.
