Daily Report

February 21 2020

On Friday we started out in the single digits but by the afternoon we had blue skies with plenty of sunshine and the temperature reached into the mid 30's. In the morning slush ice was a factor in the lower end of the river but it cleared in the afternoon. Anglers stopping into the shop reported having some action in the upper end of the river in the morning and the lower end of the river in the afternoon. Areas such as the Lower Fly Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Ellis Cove, Trestle Pool, Pineville, Town Pool, Black Hole and DSR have been producing action. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. Over the last couple of days the most productive patterns have been beadhead stoneflies, steelhead stones, wiggles stones, beadhead hare's ear, steelhead hammer, steak-n-eggs, steelie omelet and sucker spawn. For those anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, pink worms and beads have all produced results.
