Daily Report
January 19 2021
On Monday we had scattered lake effect snow showers with the temperature reaching near 30 degrees. As of this morning we only have a couple inches of snow on the ground which by north country standards is not very much, but lake effect snow is in the forecast over the next couple of days. Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with who fished the upper end of the river in Altmar reported having a slow day. In the lower end of the river it seemd to be the complete opposite with anglers getting into fish and having a good day. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success dead drifting with nymphs or single egg patterns. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing had the most success with egg sacs, beads or marabou jigs.
