Daily Report
November 24 2017
On Friday we had great weather with plenty of sunshine and the temperature reached near 50 degrees. The fishing pressure did increase which is normal for the holiday weekend. The majority of anglers we spoke with reported getting into fish and we even had a few anglers who landed there first steelhead. The reports of fish being landed came throughout the river, with the upper, mid and lower section all providing action for some anglers. The upper section of river in Altmar had the most fishing pressure. The mid section river was not as crowded and the anglers who were willing to walk were able to find some solitude as well as some fish. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR also reported having a good day. Anglers stopping into the shop also reported getting into some fish on some of the smaller local tributaries. Anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing did well on pink or blue egg sacs. For those anglers who were fly fishing, single egg patterns or nymphs fished under a strike indicator produced the best results.
