Daily Report

Over the weekend anglers reported a few steelhead still spawning in the upper end of the river but the majority of fish are dropping back. The last couple of days the best drop back action has been in the mid to lower end of the river. Anglers have been getting into fish at RT2A, Papermill, 81 Hole, Town Pool, Longbridge/Staircase, Black Hole and the DSR. The anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR have been getting into a mix of steelhead and smallmouth bass. Anglers who were fly fishing had the most success swinging black, olive, white or purple streamers with sinking leaders. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, beads, pink worms or marabou jigs have all produced results.

STREAMERS: Fish Skull Buggers in black, olive, white, size 4. Fish Skull Zonkers in black, olive, white, size 4. Double Bunny leech in olive/white, size 4. Beadhead rubber leg buggers in brown, olive, natural, size 4. Conehead bunny muddlers in black, olive, white, brown, size 4. Beadhead woolly buggers in black, olive, purple, white, size 4. Egg sucking leeches in purple or black size 4.

EGG PATTERNS: Steak-n-eggs in orange, pink, size 10. Steelie omelet in chart, cerise, peach, size 10. Estaz eggs in chart, pink, blue, orange, white, purple, size 10. Glo-bugs in pink, blue, oregon cheese, red, orange, size 10. Sucker spawn in cream, white, chart, pink, blue, orange, size 8.

NYMPHS: Brown rubber leg stone in size 6. Beadhead golden stone in size 4. Kaufman's black stone in size 4. Rubber leg golden stone in size 6. Ugly bug in black size 4. Black stone fly nymph in size 4.
