Daily Report

December 05 2021

On Saturday we had windy conditions with the temperature holding right around freezing. The upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville continues to get the most fishing pressure on a daily basis followed by the lower end of the river. If your willing to walk and trying to avoid other anglers as much as possible the mid section of river would be a good choice. In the upper end of the river and depending on the day anglers have had the most success in the Lower Fly Zone, below the Altmar Bridge, Schoolhouse are, Wire Hole, Trestle and Pineville. In the lower end of the river also depending on the day, anglers have had success around RT2A, Town Pool area, Longbirdge/Staircase and the DSR. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifting with nymphs or  indicator fishing with egg patterns has produced the best results, but those anglers committed to the swing have also had some success. Depending on the day and mood of the fish, anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing have had success on pink and blue egg sacs, pale or washed out colored beads, pink worms and marabou jigs. For those anglers who are still not comfortable with the current water conditions, some of the smaller local tributaries are another option.
