On Monday night the dam release was increased but anglers are still fishing. The weather has been nice and the temperature continues to remain above average for this time of year. Over the last couple of days the majority of bank anglers are fishing the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville and a few anglers are fishing the DSR. With the higher water anglers are fishing the softer water along the edges and inside seams of the deeper holes and larger runs. The drift boats are taking advantage of the high water and floating most of the river. Anglers who are fly fishing have been having the most success dead drifting with nymphs or indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, beads and pink worms have all produced results.
