water-temp Water Temp 40F

Daily Report

February 06 2023

On Sunday the temperature warmed up and we reached into the 40's in the afternoon. With the drop in water level and the mild conditions we saw an increase in the number of anglers getting out on the water to take advantage of the conditions. The anglers we spoke with who fished the lower end of the river reported that slush ice was a factor in the morning but cleared later in the afternoon. The anglers we spoke with who fished the upper end of the river in Altmar reported that the best action was in the morning before it dropped. As of early this morning the temperature was already above freezing. The good news is that were expected to have more seasonable weather conditions as we head through the week.

Suggested patterns:

Nymphs;  Steelhead Hammer, Rusher nymphs, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails.

Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Steelie Omelette, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.

Streamers; Woolly buggers, Conehead muddlers, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
