Daily Report
February 16 2023
On Wednesday we had spring like conditions with a mix of sun and clouds and the temperature reached into the 60's. The mild weather is expected to continue over the next day or so with temperature reaching into the 40's which is still well above average for this time of year. We got mixed reports from several anglers who came up to take advantage of the warm weather, some of them had no success at all, while others were able to land one or two. Over the last couple of days anglers who are fly fishing have been having the most success dead drifting with nymphs or small streamers and indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, trout beads, pink worms and marabou jigs have all produced results depending on the day.
Suggested patterns:
Nymphs; Steelhead Hammer, Rusher nymphs, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails.
Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Steelie Omelette, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.
Streamers; Woolly buggers, Conehead muddlers, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
