February 17 2023
On Thursday we had cloudy conditions with the temperature reaching into the 40's. For Friday we will have an early morning wintry mix, followed by dropping temperature and very high winds. Over the last couple of days anglers who are fly fishing have been having the most success dead drifting with nymphs or small streamers and indicator fishing with egg patterns. For those anglers who were bottom bouncing or float fishing, pink and blue egg sacs, trout beads, pink worms and marabou jigs have all produced results depending on the day.
Suggested patterns:
Nymphs; Steelhead Hammer, Rusher nymphs, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails.
Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Steelie Omelette, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.
Streamers; Woolly buggers, Conehead muddlers, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
