Daily Report

April 15 2023

Friday was another day of summer like conditions with blue skies, plenty of sunshine and the temperature reached into the upper 70's. The dry and extremely mild weather conditions are expected to continue right through the weekend.  Yesterday we got mixed reports from anglers, some groups got into fish, while others had a tough day. The drift boats are taking advantage of the higher water conditions and covering lots of water while getting into drop backs scattered throughout the river. We currently have drop backs scattered throughout the river from top to bottom. As the water temperature continues to rise, the drop backs generally hold in the faster water and are typically suspended in the waler column.

Suggested patterns:

Nymphs;  Steelhead Hammer, Rusher nymphs, Prince nymphs, Rubber legged stones, Beadhead stones, Pheasant tails, Soft hackles.

Eggs; Sucker spawn, Estaz eggs, Steelie Omelette, Glo-bugs, Steak-n-eggs.

Streamers; Woolly buggers, Conehead muddlers, Egg sucking leeches, Zonkers, Stonefly buggers.
