On Tuesday we had cooler conditions with a few scattered showers and the temperature was in the mid 40's. We got one more day of cooler conditions then things warm back up as we head into the upcoming weekend. Last night the release at the dam was lowered to 500cfs, check safewaters for the latest update. Yesterday the anglers we spoke with who fished the mid to upper end of the river reported getting into drop backs, the anglers we spoke with who fished the DSR reported getting into a mix of drop backs and smallmouth bass. The drift boats are taking advantage of the higher water conditions and covering lots of water while getting into drop backs scattered throughout the river. We currently have drop backs scattered throughout the river from top to bottom. As the water temperature continues to rise, the drop backs generally hold in the faster water and are typically suspended in the water column.
