water-temp Water Temp 54F

Daily Report

December 30 2023

Friday was a wet day with scattered rain and drizzle throughout the day and the temperature was in the mid 40's. The release from the dam did come on Friday night and is expected to drop again Saturday morning. Over the last couple of days the drift boats have been taking advantage of the higher water while covering lots of water. In the lower end of the river the bank anglers are fishing the softer edges and inside seams in search of fresh steelhead coming in with the higher flows. In the mid to upper end of the river the majority of bank anglers have been fishing between Altmar and Pineville in the normal winter holding areas. For those anglers not comfortable with the high water, some of the smaller local tributaries can provide another opportunity.
