Daily Report

December 01 2024

On Saturday we had cold and cloudy conditions and the heavy band of localized lake effect snow continued to stay north of us between Adams and Watertown. As of early Sunday morning we still had no snow on the ground here at the shop. Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with reported having some action. The upper and lower end of the river continues to get the most anglers on a daily basis. If your willing to walk and looking to avoid other anglers, the mid section of river would be a good choice. With the low water conditions the fish have been holding in and around the deeper holes and larger runs. For those anglers who are fly fishing, dead drifitng with nymphs, indicator fishing with egg patterns or swinging small streamers with sink tips have all produced results. For those anglers who are bottom bouncing or float fishing, egg sacs and beads have produced the best reults. Depending on the day anglers have been getting into fish in the Lower Fly Fishing Zone, Schoolhouse area, Trestle Pool area, Pineville area, Sportsman Pool area, Staircase/Longbridge, Black Hole and the DSR.
